About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [FEU]

This position is in the Customer Analytics & Reporting - Data Management & Analytics Team. The successful candidate will be a part of our advanced analytics group that supports business area initiatives to ensure value across the Customer Service organization by leveraging expertise, industry associations, and corporate analytical resources.

The position reports to the Supervisor, Data Management and Analytics.

There are two positions available.

Responsibilities include:

  • The ability to build and understand existing data models and produce meaningful visualizations preferably using Power BI.
  • Leading design and requirements gathering sessions for report development
  • Querying large amounts of data from multiple data sources, interpreting the data and analyzing results using statistical techniques
  • Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases/data systems
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Work with leadership to prioritize business and information needs
  • Small/Medium Size Project Management – from time to time acting as a SME or team member on Project Teams.
  • Researching industry best practices and new methods and alternative measures for performance.
  • Compiling and analyzing performance statistics for communication leadership updates and opportunity improvement.
  • Working across Customer Service to ensure effective and consistent reporting and analysis.

Qualifications include:

  • Four-year degree in Business, IT or a related discipline, with a minimum 4 years relevant work experience required. In lieu of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience will be required. The experience may include data reporting, analysis and recommendations, along with a thorough understanding of the subject matter.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to write and execute complex queries
  • Preferred experience with data analytics tools (Microsoft Power BI, Python, R, SAS, RapidMiner)
  • Data Modeling experience using Microsoft Azure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills must be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with teammates and positions at all levels
  • Strong Analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills are necessary with proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Must be able to manage multiple and changing priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, ensuring aggressive deadlines are met
  • Limited travel may be required to departmental functions
