Job Description

The goal of CORE (Center for Observational and Real-world Evidence) is to generate strategic value evidence and collaborate on the development of market access strategies for our Company products throughout the world. The Strategy & Operations (S&O) team in CORE develops, executes and improves business processes to ensure that the work of CORE is delivered and leveraged in an efficient and compliant way.

This business Intelligence role will be responsible for analyzing and integrating data from several systems and sources to inform important decisions with strategic implications for our Research & Development Division and the company. The Associate Director will be responsible for leading and directing the work of cross-functional teams to develop and track KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), recommending solutions to senior leadership. In addition, this role will also collaborate across CORE on critical process and performance improvement to ensure CORE work is following current our Research & Development Division and CORE processes and policies.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Leads the development of the business intelligence and operational analytics function for CORE (Center for Observational and Real-World Evidence). Will be the primary business analyst on operational metrics in Strategy and Operations to inform decision making and process improvement.

  • Main responsibilities include business intelligence and operational activities such as:

    • Establishing governance and definitions for performance indicators across all functional areas within CORE

    • Creating dashboard on operational metrics to inform business decisions for CORE

    • Setting up reporting, analysis, maintenance and recommendations for improvements based on data analysis

    • Lead data analytics on CORE processes and deliverables

    • Collaborate across all teams within CORE S&O (Strategy and Operations) and other functional areas to identify process gaps and improvement opportunities

    • Leads the development and quantitative and qualitative standard reporting of deliverables across CORE

    • Support the development of departmental performance metrics and KPI’s (i.e. savings, spend, deliverables, efficiency, contract management, compliance) to drive strategy development, resource planning and implementation.

    • Serve as an operational analytics expert on collect metrics across CORE teams and report out to CORE senior management, Strategy and Operations leads, and process owners.

    • Manage validation and documentation processes for work outputs to ensure reliability of models, reproducibility of results and replication.

  • Collaborates with Strategy & Operations team on Portfolio and budget management activities such as:

    • Collaborates with CORE Scientists on all CORE activities and works closely with cross-functional and cross-divisional working teams to ensure CORE projects are executed and managed within milestones and budget.

    • Collaborate with Finance colleagues to provide financial planning and budget management on Global Human Health Division funded projects

    • Support project team decision making by providing relevant financial information and insight

    • Participates CORE strategic initiatives and process led by the CORE Strategy & Operations Team, collaborate across CORE and with colleagues in Human Health and Research and Development Divisions on critical cross-enterprise projects

    • Provides onboarding budget management and process training to new CORE employees

Minimum Education Requirements

  • Bachelor degree required in Business, Data Analytics Finance/Accounting, Science or Engineering

Required Experience and Skills

  • A minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience in Pharma industry required; 3 years in an analytics or business intelligence role

  • Experience in setting and measuring operational metrics and KPI

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking ability through project requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate strong business acumen in daily decisions

  • Ability to influence and manage others without being the direct manager, with an ability to work across cultures and hierarchical boundaries.

  • Excellent analytical skills with strong financial acumen

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on operational objectives in the areas of portfolio planning, budget management and metric setting

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

  • Ability to work autonomously as needed, raising issues with recommendations for solutions

  • Experience in working with clinical/observational operations (minimum 3 years related job experience, or equivalent experience)

  • Proficient in EXCEL, WORD and POWERPOINT, comfortable with data-oriented tools and systems

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Master’s degree in data analytics, science, public health, business or closely related discipline

  • Experiences with portfolio and project management, PMP certified

  • Experiences in AI and automation in data analysis
