Senior Site Learning Specialist – Durham

The Senior Site Learning Specialist will define, develop, and facilitate all learning and development plans/activities in support of the Durham Integrated Learning Plan. As part of the site L&D team, will partner and consult with business clients to help develop/design/execute effective learning programs to ensure knowledge transfer skill building.

The Senior Site Learning Specialist – Durham will report to the Site Learning Lead. The candidate will have experience in areas of learning, talent, HR, and or comparable areas within a Biopharmaceutical and/or Manufacturing environment with knowledge of Quality Management systems, cGMP, and regulatory inspections. The candidate will possess change management skills necessary to demonstrate support for innovation and organizational changes needed to support the business while helping implement the Durham Integrated Learning Plan.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business client(s) management leadership, SMEs and other stakeholders to define desired performance outcomes; provide feedback and coaching on challenges related to learning programs and processes.

  • Development and execution support of Durham Integrated Learning Plan.

  • Demonstrate proper process/methodology to execute appropriate learning solutions.

  • Conducts learning needs assessments and identify performance needs/gaps and facilitates delivery of learning solutions when appropriate. Documents needs for customization/localization of global core/common learning programs; develops solutions as needed.

  • Qualify and coach skills trainers/classroom facilitators to ensure effective delivery of training programs.

  • Monitor, analyze, interpret, and report training trends; make recommendations for learning solutions, builds case studies for training effectiveness as appropriate.

  • Support the identification of non-training solutions when appropriate including collaborative use of performance consulting skills.

  • Ensures client is in Permanent Inspection Readiness and cGMP Compliance as it relates to all Learning & Development and regulatory requirements.

  • Support EHS and Quality Compliance regulatory audits as required.

  • Solicit feedback on overall success of provided learning solutions. Interpret and discuss feedback with stakeholders. Communicate recommendations based on data analysis and feedback. Activate improvements to further enhance learning program effectiveness and sustainability.

  • Shared responsibility for our Manufacturing Division execution for local site curricula content in conjunction with our Manufacturing Division L&D team.

  • Ensure execution of globally developed, locally managed Core & Common our Manufacturing Division curriculums.

  • Designs and implements site learning course content in partnership with L&D team business client SMEs, and Global L&D.

Education Minimum Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Required Experience and Skills

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a people development role (L&D/HR/OD) or demonstrated ability to proactively develop employees

  • Minimum of (2) years of CGMP experience

  • Working knowledge/application of Adult Learning Principles/Methodologies

  • Quality Management systems/CGMP/regulatory inspection knowledge/experience

  • Change Management

  • Curriculum Management

  • Training Design Skills

  • LMS Administration experience with building curricula and pulling reports

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Experience in Manufacturing Production Systems

  • Experience in Organizational Development

  • Experience in Project Management

  • Experience in Training Design using software such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, or other training design software platform.

  • Agile Learning Design & Execution: Uses experimentation, case studies, and appropriate training methods to arrive at innovative solutions/strategies needed to help develop employee capabilities to achieve business goals. Includes execution of learning technologies and interventions; agile, continuous learning methodologies; facilitation; conducts train the trainer and applicable skills qualifications. Leverages internal/external assets, facilitates information, knowledge, and expertise sharing relevant to a particular topic or area of interest to achieve business outcomes.

  • Digital Acumen: Develops digital workplaces, digital workforces, deploys technology that helps improve how people work together and learn, using a wide variety of tools to build a digital organization of emerging technologies. Collaborates with IT and business to integrate learning into the digital and automation strategies.

  • Learning Analytics: Monitors business KPIs, talent metrics, and performance metrics and provides data to help influence and make better strategic and tactical learning solutions.

  • Learning Measurement & Evaluation: Ability to gather, analyze and report information regarding the impact of learning solutions against key business drivers and evolving strategic priorities. Ability to present information in a way that is meaningful to the organization, and to use learning metrics and analytics to inform organizational decision making.
