About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co. a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.

The Manager, Fleet Services (Corporate) is responsible for oversight and corporate guidance to the Fleet Operations for all First Energy companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrating and directing a solid commitment to all aspects of safety.
  • Developing a 5+ year vehicle replacement plan based on analytics obtained through the vehicle maintenance system as well as industry best practices.
  • Develop longer-term strategies to meet the transition to an electrified fleet, including appropriate infrastructure to support as well as the optimization of the current and future fleet.
  • Efficiently and independently managing time, priorities, and updating management on work in progress, backlog of work, section productivity and any other applicable status updates.
  • Preparing specifications for procurement of utility vehicles and processing vehicles for disposal with regional fleet groups, Investment Recovery, and appropriate leasing companies.
  • Conducting research on legal issues related to fleet on local, state, and federal levels.
  • Evaluating complex equipment bids, establishing lease budgets for region operations to align with vehicle replacements.
  • Providing assistance and technical support on fleet related issues by means of licensing, permitting, and maintaining M5 and regulation compliance.
  • Creating vehicle and equipment specifications and establishing fleet policies and procedures for all fleet operations.
  • Providing support for M5/Fleet System by answering questions, troubleshooting issues, monitoring batch processing, and facilitating training as needed.
  • Implementing M5/Fleet System upgrades, working with IT to review modifications, test changes, resolve issues, and coordinate the schedule for implementation.
  • Maintaining M5/Fleet System security by maintaining documentation of security changes, obtaining proper authorization for security changes, and performing biannual audits and security maintenance.
  • Interfacing with M5/Fleet System vendor, tracking reported problems for test fixes. Presenting issues and questions to vendor and presenting notifications to regional users.
  • Coordinating Monthly Fleet Manager Meetings.
  • Monitoring administration of various lease agreements.
  • Ensuring lease invoices are properly processed and accounted for.
  • Assisting in procuring new lease agreements working with Treasury, Legal etc.
  • Periodically auditing of lease payments and compiling data for annual reporting.
  • Determining FE Transportation Rates and adjusting as required.
  • Providing Fleet Metrics and ad hoc data as it relates to M5, or SAP systems as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering Technology or related discipline along with 4 years of related work experience, or Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or related discipline, along with 8 years of related job experience, or High School Diploma (or GED) along with 10 years related work experience.
  • Must possess leadership qualities that allow one to provide effective guidance to others, coach others in effective decision-making and facilitate meetings.
  • Must have proficiency and independence with fleet systems, with specific training in hydraulic power systems.
  • Skill in the development, collection, organization, and analysis of information from a variety of sources to develop reports.
  • Must possess superior communication and analytical skills to enable effective work with fleet and management personnel, along with interfacing and working cooperatively with customers, contractors and the general public, in a professional and courteous manner. Must have strong relationships at all levels.
  • Must have full proficiency with PC software applications including Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.) and M5, along with knowledge of SAP, CREWS, P-Card and FieldNet.
  • Ability to understand and apply knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley compliance requirements.
  • Must understand the company’s Accident Prevention Handbook and apply this to safety in the workplace.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work independently or in a team environment, to manage, organize and prioritize work and meet strict deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task with competing priorities, provide both internal and external quality customer service and demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary to operate in a team or consensus decision-making environment, possessing the ability to make quick assessment and deliver well-thought decisions when situations arise that require independent judgment.
  • Must possess leadership qualities that allow one to provide effective guidance to others, coach others in effective decision-making and facilitate meetings.
  • Must have a personal vehicle to commute to various facilities and locations as required, possessing a valid driver’s license.
