Role Summary

The Director, Organized Customer Access and Reimbursement (OCAR) will serve to optimize our engagement with organized customers for the U.S. Vaccines Business Unit. The organized customer segment includes Payers, Employers, Integrated Delivery Networks, Clinically Integrated Networks (CINs,) local Vaccine related societies, and state public sector entities such as Federal Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).

The OCAR director is accountable for defining needs and developing strategies and tactics to support the vaccines portfolio within the organized customer segments mentioned earlier. The OCAR director will function as a subject matter authority for the trends and behaviors of the organized customer segment within the context of the vaccine business.

The OCAR director requires strong knowledge of the organized customer segment, including Reimbursement of Vaccines, marketing planning execution skills, deep knowledge of the evolving vaccines healthcare landscape, robust analytical skills and strong team collaboration and leadership skills.

Role Responsibilities

  • Function as a subject matter authority for dynamics, trends, and behaviors of the organized customer segments broadly and within the context of the vaccine business to help drive our Vaccines strategy and performance
  • Develop Vaccines organized customer value proposition, and the associated messaging platform, to foster the prioritization and/or utilization of our Vaccines portfolio and compliant partnership with or company's given today’s evolving healthcare landscape and decision makers (volume to value-based care, Health Information Technology, IDNs and Payors/employers.)
  • Partner with Brand Marketers to adapt and scale branded or disease specific marketing programs for optimal deployment with organized customers
  • Create and deliver training content relative to new initiatives in the healthcare environment, including but not limited to health economic outcome research (HEOR), population health management and quality measures
  • Develop payor innovative contracting programs and pricing input, understanding the impact within the segment, and customer performance monitoring
  • Collaborate with Customer Engagement Team, Contracting Team, IAM team and Brand Teams to share insights to help meet the needs of our company and the organized customer and to design specific initiatives relevant to organized customers.
  • Develop relationships with key organized customer thought leaders, through established forums for feedback, e.g., Advisory boards
  • Collaborate on preparation of the annual Budget Plan and the organized customer marketing budget - People Management of a team including five associate directors.

Minimum/Preferred Education Requirements

  • Minimum – BS/BA
  • Preferred – MBA/MA/MS

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years local, regional, and/or global commercial functions including marketing, product management, or market access (or equivalent roles)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership / ability to partner across the organization
  • Strategic, innovative thinker with a learning orientation and desire for personal excellence
  • Exceptional communicator with strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to process, integrate, and succinctly communicate large amounts of information
  • Business acumen and willingness to act even when uncertain of the outcome

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Vaccines commercial experience.
  • Track record of successfully competing in diverse markets and developing new markets and/or channels
  • Knowledge of digital platforms for customer analytics and customer engagement
  • Experience spanning functional boundaries
