The Global Medical Content and Training Director reports into the Global Medical Affairs Capabilities (GMAC) Lead. The Director is responsible for the following key activities, including, but not limited to leading the development, review, approval and communication of Global Scientific Content and Training within GMA aligned with annual strategic plans.
Primary Responsibilities
Shapes and informs the creation and adaptation of the Scientific Platform, Global Scientific Content and Training Annual Plans in collaboration with key internal stakeholders cross-functionally and worldwide
Executes Global Scientific Content and Training Plans that include but are not limited to medical information letters, FAQ’s, disease and product related slide decks, global congress medical booth materials, digital/web-based medical content and training materials
Authors or delegates the development of Global Scientific Content and Training that aligns to Annual Global Scientific Content and Training Plans and Scientific Platform
Reviews Global Scientific Content and Training materials to ensure they are relevant, scientifically accurate, and consistent with cited appropriate scientific literature, internal scientific information, and Company values and standards
Ensures appropriate stakeholders are engaged in the development, review, and approval of Global Scientific Content and Training materials
Communicates Global Scientific Content and Training approved content to key internal stakeholders
Leads training to internal stakeholders on key disease and product Global Scientific Content and Training
Directs a multitude of partnerships, by identifying gaps and leading in areas where there is value added, such as creation of Global Scientific Content and Training processes, SOP authoring/updates, and cross-functional activities that contribute to the Global Scientific Content and Training vision
Anticipates internal/external business and information needs and regulatory/compliance issues | Takes leadership role in decision-making and developing cross-functional strategy and tangible solutions within functional, company, and industry guidelines
Education Requirements
MSN, BS degree in Pharmacy, MS degree in Life Sciences, + minimum ten years of relevant Medical Affairs experience or
BS degree in Nursing, Life Sciences + minimum fifteen years of relevant Medical Affairs experience
Experience and Skills
Required
Extensive knowledge of specified Therapeutic Area
Relevant working experience in Medical Communications and training in the pharmaceutical industry
Demonstrated scientific writing/verbal communication skills
Proven ability for solid networking, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Organizational and prioritization skills
Multi-tasking and problem-solving skills (solution-driven)
Preferred
Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD)
Experience leading the development of multiple Global or Regional Medical/Scientific Affairs Plans
Development or delivery of scientific content and training for the purpose of scientific exchange w/external customers
Negotiation skills for interaction with cross-functional teams
Prior experience working across geographies with different regulation/compliance requirements
Extensive knowledge across multiple related therapeutic areas
Proven leadership and influence/negotiation skills for interaction with cross-functional teams
Strong analytical skills and ability to translate strategy into action plans
Strong track record of mentoring or managing people
Able to work in a complex organization environment and have ability to effectively operate in a global and team-oriented structure
