At Our Company's campus in Elkton, Virginia, we have a Training Facility Technical Operations Specialist position available on the Learning and Development Team. The manufacturing facility is located in the Shenandoah Valley along the Shenandoah River and the Blue Ridge Mountains a short distance from the University of Virginia and James Madison University. Due to the importance of this facility it has seen rapid growth in production volumes and new employees over the last several years.

Our Learning and Development Team supports manufacturing with a “Safety First, Quality Always” mindset striving for continuous improvement. Elkton has an extensive Training Facility Program that provides employees with the proper training to be able to perform their job safely and with the highest quality. The successful candidate will be a technical subject matter expert (SME) within the Training Facility Team.

Elkton’s Training Facility Technical Operations Specialist will be a person with production experience that possesses strong interpersonal, and collaboration skills. They will be responsible for developing and executing training in order to support the sites growing demands. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply their enthusiasm and technical skills as a member of a multidisciplinary team. The candidate should have experience in Manufacturing, Job Skills Training, Facilitation, and Driving a Strong Safety Culture. Core responsibilities of the Training Facility Technical Operations Specialist include:

  • Leading specific training competencies as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME).

  • Developing and delivering process specific training using factory scale equipment.

  • Overseeing and facilitating training that emphasizes active skills-based learning.

  • Supporting equipment installation and qualification.

  • Coaching trainees to build their skills and drive operational employee excellence.

  • Continuously improving curricula through conducting learning needs analysis.

  • Authoring and reviewing Training Facility Curricula and ensuring quality and consistency with adult learning principles.

  • Ensuring competency assessments are embedded in training materials to facilitate metric reporting and certification requirements.

  • Assisting in the implementation and rollout of training for new technologies.

  • Driving safety and compliance acculturation for the site

Minimum Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Adult Learning, or Science

Required Experience

  • 1 year minimum relevant experience in manufacturing
