Job Description

Position Description:

  • Under the direction of the Director of Global Professional Relations and Independent Medical Education (gPRIME) Grant Operations Quality, the Senior Specialist of Grant Operations is responsible for facilitating the operations review and closeout of our Company’s Global Independent Medical Education (IME) Grants.

  • The Senior Specialist is responsible for letter of agreement management, audit preparedness, and system change request tracking and facilitation.

  • The Senior Specialist will liaise with gPRIME stakeholders including Therapeutic Area (TA) Grant Reviewers and Grant Operations contract staff, Legal, and Compliance to manage the grant review process from end to end.

Responsibilities and Primary Activities:

  • Partners with gPRIME TA Grant Reviewers to facilitate grant funding for IME activities as a subject matter expert in Global IME Grants corporate policy procedures.

  • Ensures appropriate documentation of critical review and assessment of grant requests aligned with internal policies, industry standards, guidelines, and regulations (i.e., EFFPIA, FDA, OIG, ACCME, PhRMA Code, AMA).

  • Ensures appropriate vetting of educational provider organizations prior to processing an application.

  • Ensures Global IME Grants are approved for payment in an accurate and timely manner and monitors/processes refunds.

  • Identifies requests that may present risk or require unique guidance and proposes solution and mitigation plan to the gPRIME Grant Operations Director, and Legal and Compliance when required.

  • Facilitates compliance screenings for US and Global IME Grant reviews in collaboration with country Compliance and Legal representatives as necessary.

  • Assists in identifying and conducting training for gPRIME TA Reviewers and Grant Operations contract staff.

  • Provides and tracks recommendations for process and system improvements to the Grant Management System.

Required Qualifications, Skills, & Experience

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in science, business, healthcare or related field with 3 years of experience in global grants management.

  • Associate Degree in science, business, healthcare or related field with 4 years of experience in global grants management in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.

Required:

  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-up.

  • Ability to prioritize and independently manage multiple assignments.

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

  • Experience working in fast-paced environments and the ability to learn quickly while understanding and solving new problems.

  • Cultural consideration/sensitivity when working with employees, external stakeholders, and vendors from various countries.

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills and a demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve problems.

  • Knowledge of compliance in a regulated environment and areas of risk associated with grant funding.
