We believe we can achieve the goal when curious, courageous, and collaborative people like you are brought together in an inspiring environment, empowering you to take calculated risks, and teaming you with people who share your determination, to tackle the world’s toughest medical challenges.<br><br>Laboratory Operations (LO), situated within the Scientific Operations (SO) organization, is responsible for providing integrated programs and services that support our scientific community, and has a mission to enable the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research’s (NIBR) lab scientists to focus on science in the lab through data-driven, sustainable operational excellence and innovation. LO consists of four global sub-functions and this role provides local leadership working in the key area of equipment management.<br><br>The Manager, Lab Equipment is a key member of the local and global Equipment & Engineering (E&E) team. You will be responsible for ensuring the success of the E&E sub-function through building strong partnerships with the local Operations community as well as other Novartis stakeholders. You will be responsible for the operational management of the NIBR Lab Equipment Management (LEM) program in Cambridge, MA, including any interactions with engaged third parties.<br><br>Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to:<br><br>•Oversee and advance the local Lab Equipment Maintenance (LEM) program<br>•Manage services provided by 3rd party vendors against globally agreed upon metrics, KPIs and budget<br>•Lead LEM-related projects, including selected global initiatives<br>•Manage local lab gas program to ensure compliance with building codes and site SAMACO guidance<br>•Manage local centralized cold storage program and Lab Urgent Response Team (LURT) for emergency response for critical cold storage equipment.<br>•Advance best practices for asset lifecycle management<br>•Lead site-wide review of all lab equipment CAPEX requests; ensuring compliance with all appropriate guidance,<br>•Partner with Sourcing and Finance to provide the science community with the information necessary to make the best possible decisions on equipment purchases based on landscape and utilization<br>•Implement end of life programs for equipment to maximize overall value to NIBR<br>•Drive operational excellence competence and sustainability best practices for all supported programs and initiatives<br>•Advance Novartis’ strategic imperative of operational and digital excellence in all lab-related operational project, programs, and activities<br>•Support Lab Ops requirements in local data availability, accessibility, and quality needs<br>•Maintain a strong relationship with scientific community to ensure their changing research needs are aligned and supported by NIBR business processes<br>•Manage the interface with scientists and supporting NIBR functions<br><br>[#video#https://youtu.be/B88bPEKkDI4{#400,300#}#/video#]
