About the Opportunity The Ethics & Compliance Specialist - Investigations focus on E&C investigations. The Ethics & Compliance (E&C) investigations team manages E&C investigations and works with stakeholders throughout the organization to conduct thorough and timely investigations while overseeing and continuously improving the investigation processes and data. The Ethics & Compliance (E&C) group works to strengthen the company's ethics and compliance profile for FirstEnergy's operating companies. The team interacts with various functions to promote trust and respect, manage ethics and compliance risks, promote ethical business conduct, develop policies, procedures and investigations, coordinates training, and manages ethics and compliance communications. The position can be located in OH, PA, NJ, MD or WV, with travel as needed. Responsibilities include: - Supporting day-to-day Investigations initiatives and continuous improvement - Supporting the development and build-out of the Ethics & Compliance Investigations program - Documenting investigations policies and procedures - Maintaining investigations policies and procedures - Supporting and conducting time-sensitive, complex investigations of irregularities, fraud, corruption, and/or other violations of the Code of Conduct, company policies, or the law - Supporting and conducting investigations triggered by reported concerns and complaints from internal and external parties - Developing and executing procedures, collecting data, reviewing patterns and anomalies, and compiling gathered information at the direction of the Investigations Manager. - Managing storage and maintenance of investigation case data according to the established framework l - Engaging with business unit management to communicate relevant review findings to promote adherence to processes and procedures - Contributing to reports on investigation findings and regular status reports for leadership - Working with Legal, Assurance, and other functions to ensure understanding of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and risk Qualifications include: - Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Criminal Justic, Law, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline is required - Minimum 4 to 7 years relevant work experience is required. Relevant work experience includes work in compliance & ethics, conduct and/or management of investigations or similar expertise. - Able to develop and implement process improvements and efficiencies - Superior interpersonal, written, verbal, and oral communication skills - Knowledge of ethical practices and standards within Utilities or Electricity sector - Strong investigative and analytical skills - Able to build relationships and credibility across the organization - Pragmatic with strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail - Team player with a collaborative attitude with the capacity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment Benefits, Compensation & Workforce Diversity At FirstEnergy, employees are key to our success.
