Summary:

A Brief Overview

The IR technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic special studies to patients, both body IR and Neuro IR, and assists the Radiologists with diagnostic and interventional procedures.

What you will do

  • Performs a wide variety of interventional procedures and must be familiar with new techniques as they become available
  • Operates imaging system for IR procedures
  • Follows Sterile Technique
  • Consults with referring docs and obtains clinical history
  • Fills injector with contrast media
  • Prepares supplies and patient using aseptic technique
  • Ensures area is clean orderly with appropriate supplies to perform procedures
  • Practices proper radiation protection
  • Maintains equipment and reports and problems to lead tech
