For over 21 years, NIBR - San Diego has been doing cutting-edge innovative drug discovery for Novartis global research organization.<br><br><br>We are seeking a Research Scientist for our Compound Management (CM) Group at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR), San Diego to work in a highly automated, highly interactive, and fast-paced environment to enable efficient compound distribution locally and worldwide. As a member of the global CM community, you will help accelerate drug discovery through operational excellence in a flexible and dynamic environment. <br>You will conduct routine operation and maintenance of laboratory robotics as well as interfacing with web-based software tools. Some of the laboratory tasks would include retrieval and storage of solutions from semi-automated and automated stores, use of automated instruments for dissolution and solution transfers, coordination of shipments of orders to and from other Novartis sites and/or CROs. <br>Your Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<br>• Fulfillment of dry and solution-based compound sample requests for local and/or global Novartis sites and for external collaborators.<br>• Retrieval and storage of compounds from automated and semi-automated stores<br>• Operation of laboratory robotics requiring machine setup and post-processing procedures using established lab protocols<br>• Maintain and troubleshoot the automation with input from senior lab members to ensure quality<br>• Manual compound weighing <br>• Work collaboratively across lab with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills<br>• Identify issues and implement solutions to meet the needs of project teams/colleagues.<br><br>As required by applicable law, Novartis will consider requests for reasonable accommodation for those unable to be vaccinated.
