Our Manufacturing Operations teams are the people that make our products. We work in the manufacturing plants with a “Safety First, Quality Always” mindset striving for continuous improvement. We work in the local plant connected to our global manufacturing network to ensure the highest quality of raw materials, intermediates and finished products.

The Materials Handler, Production Support position is available at our Animal Health facility in Elkhorn, Nebraska, located on the West end of Omaha. The Elkhorn facility is expanding operations to manufacture animal vaccines and biologics. Looking for talented individuals to join our teams.

The Materials Handler, Production Support role is a support position in the manufacturing process and works under minimal supervision. At all times, the selected candidate must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adhere to all safety and company policies and conducts in-process inventory control, warehouse management, distribution and shipping and receiving functions.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates, at all times, safe work habits and maintains a safe work environment | Understands and complies with all safety and company policies and procedures

  • Deliver parts and material to the production floor in a timely manner
    Follow a route for collecting and dropping off material requirements throughout the shop

  • Continuously restock consumable material to the production floor

  • Remove nonconforming material from stock, place in quarantine and notify Quality Inspector of non-conformance

  • Verify materials requirements on Bills of Material (BOM)

  • Kit parts according to BOM requirements on a first in, first out (FIFO) basis and record traceability

  • Issue parts in SAP via Inventory Transaction Entry

  • Update Shortage Reports

  • Receive material in SAP via Inventory Transaction Entry

  • Coordinate with purchasing and/or quality on receivables that are inaccurate or nonconforming according to Purchase Order requirements

  • Conducts data entry functions in SAP to execute the shipping process

  • Operates forklift or powered lift to load onto freight truck

  • Picks/Pulls freight to and from pallet racking

  • Deliveries receipts from daily activities through out facility/campus

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Some College Preferred

Experience and Skills

Required

  • Four plus years Materials/Warehouse environment

  • Obtain Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certification

  • Principled verbal and written communications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel)

  • Flexible to work in all areas of manufacturing as needed to meet production demands

Preferred

  • Material handling in a manufacturing facility

  • Familiarity with SAP

  • Work in a team environment

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Lean and continuous improvement philosophies and methodologies

Position Environment

  • Varying environmental conditions, such as indoor/outdoor work, varying temperatures along with secondary gowning, entering coolers and freezers

  • Majority of time is spent standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting and working at or above shoulder height

  • Lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis, using proper lifting techniques
