Job Description

Our Animal Health Research & Development team work tirelessly to invent solutions to improve the health and wellbeing of animals. The Director, AH L&D Operations will support the AH Global L&D Leader in the execution of the AH L&D Strategy.

In this role, the candidate will be expected to establish processes, governance and lead a team to deliver on the following:

  • Execute the operational processes for the CoE including appropriate L&D metrics and KPI’s to support business reporting to measure impact on business (create/manage an L&D Dashboard)
  • Ensure that L&D meets compliance and regulatory requirements particularly understanding global works councils and managing the AH Catalog in myLearning, Workday Learning and MS VIVA.
  • Support the LCoE by managing a division wide L&D governance strategy, L&D Portfolio, Data and Analytics which will inform the Annual Learning Plan and Budget.
  • Partner with IT to ensure alignment with IT strategic road map, partner with Finance to manage LCoE budget and forecasting needs, partner with Procurement for vendor management and partner with the global organization for alignment of enterprise-wide resources and systems.
  • Remain connected with HR Ops lead to ensure we’re investing and/or utilizing the appropriate platforms and ensure we’re delivering on the user experience to track via metrics and KPI’s
  • Have experience with vendor management and RFP’s
  • Influence the design and execution of the Annual Learning Plan and ensuring accurate monthly forecasts and financials for the AH L&D Organization
  • Must have strong project management skills
  • Manage operations meetings and agenda based on business cadence
  • Liaise with Global Market Operation leaders and GAHM Operations to ensure seamless coordination of priorities, projects and metrics.

The candidate will manage a team of system administrators, project managers and L&D program and data analyst.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage flow of work coming into the Animal Health L&D Portfolio, working with the Learning Partners across all markets supporting the Animal Health business (Commercial, R&D and GAHM).
  • Lead the annual profit planning and annual learning planning processes preparing for budget planning sessions
  • Identify Portfolio Timelines running at risk to delivery and communicate via the L&D Dashboard – project updates, metrics/KPI’s and additional analytics
  • Ensure accurate monthly forecasts, track and report budget EA’s and Actuals
  • Partner with finance to effectively develop, manage, and monitor budgets; and analyze variances on an on-going basis
  • Forecast risk with monthly reporting to LT to support/engage/mitigate risk
  • Manage the system administrators to ensure appropriate reporting for commercial and GAHM audits, reports and compliance requests.
  • Work with the Learning Partners to support communication across markets
  • Project manage prioritized, complex work in support of AH wide initiatives
  • Support the AH Learning CoE leader and CoE Team by establishing agendas for Full Team meetings, Operations meetings, including coordinating / facilitating meetings.
  • Initiate and track all follow-up activities emerging from full team and Operations meetings.
  • Facilitate the stage gate process to ensure efficient workflow
  • Manage interim/unplanned Operational activities and requests; make appropriate recommendations for program management and dashboard accuracy.

Competencies:

  • Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Advanced project planning and management experience, including the ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1–2 years), and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the business plan
  • Financial Acumen: Experience managing all aspects of a departmental budget including training tuition, program spend/POs and T&E
  • Data and Analytics: Previous experience in managing global dashboards, KPIs, and L&D metrics
  • L&D Policies, Standards, and Procedures: Knowledge of and ability to use industry and organization standards, procedures, and policies relevant to staff learning and development
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Advanced ability to use a broad range of methods, assumptions, frameworks, and perspectives when solving problems and making decisions

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree
  • Preferred: Master’s degree

Experience:

  • Required: Minimum of 10+ years of related experience, Preferred: Experience in the areas of Operations, analytics, learning, talent, HR, or commercial business
  • Preferred: Project Management certification, Lean Six Sigma or Agile/Scrum certification or Change Management certification
