Job Description

Attention NJ Applicants: In April 2020, our Company announced plans to consolidate our New Jersey campuses into a single New Jersey headquarters location in Rahway, NJ by 2023. Therefore, the NJ work location for this role will be temporarily based and the exact timing of the departmental move to Rahway, NJ will be communicated at a future date.

Under the supervision of the Associate Director, Expense Operations, the Senior Specialist will work closely with the Finance team that supports US and Global Commercial teams as a key financial and strategic business partner to support the goals and growth of our Company’s Human Health business. The Senior Specialist is responsible for assisting in the forecasting, budgeting, and financial evaluation activity for the investment base. The Senior Specialist partners closely with cross functional teams, including marketing, sales, procurement, legal, compliance and corporate teams to support the evaluation of business performance and identify, evaluate and execute strategic opportunities.

The Senior Specialist will be exposed to and will develop a deep understanding of various business areas and seek to gain a strategic understanding of the broader our Company enterprise. A successful candidate will have an intrinsic curiosity about the healthcare industry, a dedication to serving customers, a passion for learning, and an eagerness to collaborate in solving complex business challenges. The position requires effective communication, strategic thinking, and an enterprise mindset.

This position supports US and Global Expense Finance teams and is based in Upper Gwynedd, Pa or Rahway, NJ

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in Associate Directors FP&A activities (Monthly Close, Budget, Long Range Operating Plans, and other forecasts) for their business area, including pulling necessary details in the evaluation of performance relative to forecast and targets and presentation of financial results

  • Partner with the Finance Associate Directors in identifying opportunities within the commercial organization. Including the evaluation of investment opportunities, assessing business performance, allocate targets, and drive progress on transformation objectives

  • Ensure integrity of reported financial results by maintaining planning and reporting models and databases

  • Coordinate master data maintenance for organizational changes, train users on SAP Project Systems and partner with the business on expense related issue resolution

Qualifications

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business-related discipline

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Finance / Accounting or business analytics role

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Strong compliance focus, financial acumen, analytical skills, and knowledge of finance systems and planning and reporting processes

  • High degree of business acumen and demonstrated ability to provide strategic guidance

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build diverse peer and client relationships

  • Passion and intellectual curiosity with respect to healthcare industry

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry

  • Strong computer skills, Expertise in Excel, Power Point, Thinkcell, SAP reporting system

  • Comfortable employing financial modeling methods, tools and IT applications to collect, analyze, synthesize and validate financial data to proactively identify issues and drive complex business decisions

  • Ability to adopt and apply new technology, techniques, and ways of working
