Job Description

New hires in office-based roles in the US & Puerto Rico will be required, subject to applicable law, to demonstrate that they have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or qualify for a medical or religious exemption to this vaccination requirement that can be accommodated without an undue burden to the operation. Attention NJ Applicants: In April 2020, our Company announced plans to consolidate our New Jersey campuses into a single New Jersey headquarters location in Rahway, NJ by 2023. Therefore, the NJ work location for this role will be temporarily based and the exact timing of the departmental move to Rahway, NJ will be communicated at a future date.

The individual hired will be a part of the Pan Tumor team within Center for Observational and Real world Evidence (CORE) leading Real World Evidence Generation (RWE) projects to support our oncology business. The role comprises of the following responsibilities:

  • Be a part of the Innovative Strategies (IS) team that supports indications that are tumor agnostic and based on basket trials

  • Work closely with the IS Value Evidence Sub Team (VEST) Lead to define the RWE plan, in collaboration with colleagues from commercial, medical affairs, clinical, policy, market access, country affiliates, and from other relevant teams to ensure that value evidence initiatives and RWE studies are aligned with business strategies

  • Understand internal and external stakeholder value evidence needs and develop evidence generation activities aligned with the needs

  • Implement RWE studies to document the burden and cost of diseases, unmet medical need, patient and caregiver perspective and the value of drug therapy as outlined in the Innovative Strategy VEST plan

  • Responsible for executing on research projects including development of the study protocol, analyses, and dissemination of the results internally and externally. The incumbent will be responsible for contracting and budget management for the projects.

  • Work closely with teams responsible for developing reimbursement related clinical trial analysis, economics models, patient reported outcomes and epidemiology assessments to ensure robust evidence package is developed for HTA/reimbursement submissions

  • Develop a clear value evidence plan and pan tumor initiatives to support product life cycle management strategies in collaboration with colleagues from CORE and cross functional partners from commercial, medical affairs, clinical, policy, market access, etc.

  • Support our country affiliates and adapt pan tumor projects and RWE to local needs

  • Provide outcomes research expertise and tools such as protocols, input forms, data collection forms for customization to countries, per local requirements

  • Obtain scientific input through pan-tumor scientific advisory panels on RWE, as required

  • Communicate findings from real world activities internally and externally

  • Present real world evidence at international/national congresses and publish articles in scientific journals.

  • Stay abreast of advances externally in the field of oncology and use of RWE in topics relevant to the job responsibilities

  • Contribute to external conversations and interact with experts in oncology RWE worldwide

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Doctoral degree PhD or MSc/MPH, from a recognized school of medicine, public health, management, pharmacy, or economics, in health services research, epidemiology, public health or significant work experience in health services research, epidemiology, public health, or health economics strongly desired

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 1 year post PhD or 3+ years post-Master’s degree of relevant experience in the areas of health economics, outcomes research, market access, HTA or related field

  • Demonstrated expertise in the design and implementation of epidemiological, or health economic studies

  • Demonstrated expertise in the fields of outcomes research, health services research, epidemiology or health economics, and/or health technology assessment

  • A track record of scientific presentations and publications

  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Understanding and application of outcomes research in oncology

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry
