Who you are: You are a seasoned data scientist and innovator with interest and experience in Real-World Evidence (RWE) generation through advanced analytics and innovative approaches. You have a strong desire to influence internal and external decision making through the application of innovative data science and technology.

Where you fit in: You will collaborate with a diverse set of scientists in the Center for Observational and Real-world Evidence (CORE) to provide analytics expertise for non-interventional studies, develop advanced and strategic real-world data (RWD) analytics capabilities, and support RWE generation for reimbursement, market access, and other business imperatives. You will lead the design and implementation of our Company's RWD quality initiatives in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. You will help identify business and scientific opportunities as you broaden the scope of collaboration with other functions in our Company's Research Laboratories and Human Health. You will do this in a vibrant research environment with a strong innovative culture as analytics lead in the real-world data analytics and innovation (RDAI) group. Responsibilities:

  • Propose, design, and oversee the conduct of RWE studies from a data science and analytics perspective, including contributing to RWE study protocols, writing statistical analysis plans, and ensuring high quality, rigorous and readily interpretable analysis results are generated

  • Partner with Value Evidence Leads and cross-functional stakeholders to pro-actively inform the Value Evidence strategy for our Company products from a data science and analytics perspective. Lead the delivery of data analytics in support of value evidence strategy in close collaboration with RDAI data scientists, stats programming team and other experts on value evidence teams.

  • Manage a team in the real-world analytics and innovation (RDAI) group to support multiple therapeutic/disease areas.

  • Continuously improve methods and algorithms that have significant impact on business. Effectively communicate novel algorithms and methodological approaches to internal and external stakeholders

  • Guide the development of real-world data, analytics, and platform capabilities, applying cutting-edge methodologies and tools to address scientific questions related to health economics, resource utilization, treatment patterns, and real-world outcomes.

Education Requirements:

  • Training in epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics and outcomes research, data science, biomedical informatics, health informatics, clinical informatics, engineering, or a related field required

  • PhD preferred, or a master's degree with at least 6 years relevant work experience is required.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Six or more years of experience in non-interventional research studies and statistical analysis for RWE planning, generation, and dissemination

  • Broad understanding and application of statistical methodology for RWE generation

  • Experience in healthcare administrative data, electronic health records, disease/patient registries, and other types of RWD

  • Demonstrated customer focus and excellent matrix, interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Healthcare or pharmaceutical industry experience with well-developed business acumen

  • People management experience

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Exposure with payer analytics and/or HTA methodologies for assessing RWE

  • Broad understanding and application of artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms in biomedical research and/or healthcare settings

  • Exposure/familiarity in Natural Language Process (NLP) and social media data mining

  • Experience with Big Data technology (such as AWS Redshift)
