Job Description

Our Animal Health Marketing team takes a customer centric perspective using customer feedback and market intelligence data. Using this data, we design, develop and deploy products, platforms, brands and marketing initiatives that ensure we can improve the health and well-being of animals everywhere.

The Associate Director, Global Marketing is part of the Global Companion Animal Marketing team and reports to the Executive Director, Global Marketing, Parasiticides. This unit sets the strategic direction for the Global Companion Animal market worldwide and ensures strategic alignment with all relevant functions within the organization. The position is based in Madison, New Jersey, USA until December 2022. In January 2023, our Company’s new office will be located in Rahway, New Jersey.

The Associate Director is a marketing function (P4) based in Rahway, New Jersey (effective Jan ’23).

This person will report directly to the Global Marketing Executive Director.

Position Description:

PRINCIPAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead innovation project/s. This includes a range of responsibilities to bring a product to market (e.g., facilitating product introduction teams, managing timelines, leading packaging design process). Collaborate with Research and Development (R&D) on product development, Insights on customer research and Local Markets on launch execution.

  • Grow and evolve online customer (pet owner and vet) engagement digital platform. Lead overall digital marketing and social media efforts that enable local marketing teams to engage with stakeholders long-term and grow the business.

  • Work closely with Digital Transformation team to bring to life new tools and advancements that drive brand awareness, sales and loyalty.

  • Develop and provide guidance/best practices to markets on key aspects of marketing excellence (e.g., targeting and messaging by key customer segments and conversion funnel stage, guidelines on branding, packaging, m-plans), and own asset creation strategy for the in-line business.

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably a degree in marketing, animal or agriculture science and advanced degree such as MBA or DVM.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum five years of post-graduate related experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Marketing or in the Animal Health industry at a Senior Managerial level.

  • Excellent communication skills, including intercultural, interpersonal and general communication with a natural ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

  • Project management and team leadership, including new product development.

  • Digital Marketing experience, including collaboration with IT &/or agencies on creation and upkeep of websites, apps, as well as multi-channel customer journey creation, monitoring and optimization.

  • Strong business acumen including:

  • Results orientation – Must be highly motivated, value accountability, adhere to deadlines and seek continuous improvement.

  • Critical thinking – Listen and connect various data points, discussions and perspectives to solve problems.

  • Analytical – Possess strong analytical ability, able to assess data and make logical assumptions and projections.

  • Attention to detail – Value the importance of accuracy and detail orientation while being able to see the big picture.

  • Self awareness – Understand role in organization and how to interact with others. Need to think and listen like a leader.

  • Cross functional collaboration – Work across functions and levels.

  • Willingness to contribute to all levels of work and be flexible.

  • Experience collaborating with creative agency partners and consumer insights.

  • English fluency: written, oral and comprehension.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office apps, namely Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Availability to travel (up to 15% travel, mostly international).

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Corporate experience in a global or regional role in a fast-paced, multinational organization.

  • International work experience outside of the US.

  • Additional language fluency a plus.
