Our Research Laboratories’ Postdoctoral Research Fellow Program aims to be a best-in-industry program for industrial postdoctoral researchers, designed to provide you with an academic focus in a commercial environment. As a postdoctoral fellow in our Preformulation group based in Rahway, NJ, you will work with a highly collaborative team of scientists to investigate drug-excipient interactions in novel drug delivery platforms. This work will enable molecular-level understanding of the role of excipients in drug product formulations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Designing and conducting experiments and analysis that enable understanding performance of excipients using a variety of spectroscopic and imaging techniques including but not limited UV-VIS absorption, Fluorescence spectroscopy, FT-IR, NMR, SEM, AFM, Terahertz, MS imaging.

  • Collaborating with internal and external scientists conducting solid and solution characterization with advanced techniques.

  • Data interpretation, manuscript preparation, publication and presentation of results.

  • Contribute to a safe and compliant laboratory work environment.

What You Need:

  • Candidates must currently hold a PhD OR receive a PhD by fall of 2021.

  • Candidates must have an in-depth knowledge and experimental experience in studying molecular interactions (non-bonding interactions, such as H-bonding, hydrophobic/hydrophilic interactions) and structure-property relationships.

  • Candidates must have the ability to conceive, design, execute and communicate complex experiments in related areas as evidenced by publications.

  • Candidates must have experience with spectroscopic and imaging techniques.

  • Candidates must be an independent and self-motivated scientist.

It's Great If You Have:

  • Experience with amorphous solid dispersions.

  • Experience in studying molecular crystallization/crystallization inhibition.
