Oncology is a rapidly growing business within our Company, dedicated to developing breakthrough biomedical innovations to help extend and improve the lives of people with cancer worldwide.

Our Oncology team is looking to hire a Senior Specialist, Market Research, to support strategic and executional decision-making on biomarkers and testing. The position will plan, manage and implement a US and Global Market Research and Analytics plan for in-market and pipeline oncology products.

Key responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

  • Develops and oversees execution of a market research plan for both the US and Global teams.

  • With guidance from senior market researchers and marketing teams, develops and implements all aspects of primary market research including leadership in framing critical business questions, identification of information needs, development of research/analysis plans and management of the research process to deliver an objective understanding of key customers, competitors, products and current/future market developments.

  • Implements research studies and manages budget in a compliant manner; briefs agencies to deliver what is required – understands vendor capabilities, quality requirements, and recommends innovative options; ensures the business objectives are met and communicated in an effective and actionable way.

  • Leverages available secondary data, syndicated reports and databases and integrates findings into primary market research efforts to tell and evolve the "story."

  • Proactively communicates synthesized market and customer insights to ensure incorporated into decision-making and planning; acts as strategic partner to the Marketing team, including identifying business opportunities.

  • Collaborates proactively with cross-functional business partners including marketing communications, market access colleagues, and the advertising agency to ensure optimal integration.

  • Manages competing priorities and demands from within the franchise.

  • Works on and leads ad-hoc franchise wide initiatives and/or projects as needed.

  • Has a particular interest in learning the business of oncology and the science behind immuno-oncology.

  • Desires to work on a dynamic business which will include multiple tumor, indication, and brand launches.

  • Requires a strong desire to learn and master primary market research methodologies.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree

  • Preferred: Master's degree

Required Experience and Skills:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in commercial functions (including market research, marketing services, marketing, analytics, consulting, sales, etc.)

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Solid project management, teamwork and collaboration skills

  • Propensity to think strategically and objectively

  • Ability to communicate effectively and a strong desire to lead change

  • Up to 20% travel

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Market research schooling or hands-on experience a plus

  • Working knowledge of the pharmaceutical business, oncology market, and/or biomarkers is preferred

  • Desire to work in a highly dynamic and fast paced commercial environment where decision making is driven by multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to motivate without authority
