Position Overview:

Our company's Protein Design team is focused on developing novel protein therapeutics that will have a direct impact on patient lives. We are exploring unique modalities and creative ways to leverage proteins against disease. As a group, we bring a diverse set of skills, perspectives, and backgrounds to tackle challenging scientific problems and we pride ourselves on exploring innovative approaches to protein therapeutics. As part of our team, your mission will be to explore cutting edge biologic modalities and contribute to the scientific community through learnings and discoveries made in this arena

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct research under mentorship of a protein engineer and broader team of biologics experts. This position is perfect for someone interested in leveraging their bench science skills, while also improving their understanding of the drug discovery process and novel biologic modalities.

  • As a postdoctoral fellow, a strong focus will be scientific and professional development, as well as publication. The fellowship is intended to last 2–3 years.

  • Work with a highly collaborative team of scientists at the our site in South San Francisco to expand our understanding of unique and emerging modalities in the biologics space.

  • Very strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills are required.

  • Must be passionate about science, excited to learn new things, and willing to share those findings with the broader community (upto 10% travel for conferences).

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Candidates must currently hold a PhD OR will receive a PhD in biochemistry, protein engineering, immunobiology or related field by Fall 2022.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in designing experiments, effectively analyzing findings, and a proven track record of publishing interpretations and results

  • Experience in handling and manipulating protein and antibodies for use in in-vitro experiments

  • Experience with iterative protein design process

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experimental design and planning

  • Expression and purification of antibodies and proteins

  • Assay development

  • Standard molecular biology and cloning

  • Biophysical protein characterization
