Job Description

The Future Talent Program features internships that last up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Research & Development Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.

The Strategy Realization Office (SRO) is an integral part of Global Medical and Scientific Affairs belonging to our Company’s research laboratories division, where we develop cost effective medicines and consumer healthcare products for patients around the world every day through innovation, technical and scientific excellence. The Global Medical and Scientific Affairs group ensures that scientific leaders and health care providers have the information they need, and that scientific insights gathered are translated into actions, to maximize patient outcomes.

The SRO is currently recruiting for a summer intern. The goal of the internship is to assist senior program managers in the planning and execution of projects that implement strategies, advance innovation, and improve the performance excellence of all areas within Global Medical and Scientific Affairs. The candidate should have good communication skills and be well organized. The candidate should have a basic understanding of project management, data analysis, presentation creation, and business management concepts. Basic Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills are required. This position would best suit someone with an interest in the business side of the pharmaceutical or healthcare industries.

SRO Intern job responsibilities and learnings:

  • Assist in the creation, management, and execution of project plans; learn practical details and approaches to project planning

  • Collect and analyze operational data; learn how to use data to drive project success

  • Improve current project management processes; learn to identify and develop process improvements

  • Actively participate in project and group meeting discussions; learn meeting facilitation skills

  • Collaborate with colleagues whenever possible; learn soft skills to achieve both operational and project goals

  • Gain a basic understanding of the pharmaceutical market and how Medical Affairs contributes to success

Required Education & Experience:

  • Candidates must be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in business management/administration, the sciences, or a related field

  • Candidates must be returning to school in the Fall of 2023

  • Candidates must be available to work full-time for up to (12) weeks beginning on 5JUN23

  • Candidates must have a basic understanding of problem-solving techniques

  • Candidates must have an understanding of data analysis

  • Candidates must have a good working knowledge of MS Excel

  • Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Candidates must have outstanding ability to organize information and manage one’s own time in both on-site and remote environments

  • Candidates must have a positive, proactive, can-do attitude

  • Candidates must be eager to learn

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Candidates should have experience and knowledge of standard process improvement techniques

  • Candidates should have experience publishing professional or educational documentation on the web, using a content-management platform such as SharePoint

  • Candidates should have experience with Microsoft Office applications (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Candidates should have experience with team collaboration applications (MS Teams)

  • Candidates should have experience with task or time management applications

  • Candidates should be an excellent team player who is able to readily take on responsibilities and work independently

  • Candidates should have a strong interest in project management
