Within the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR), the Novartis Institute for Tropical Diseases (NITD) situated in the San Francisco Bay Area is dedicated to finding new therapies to treat and prevent a range of noncommunicable and infectious conditions, with an emphasis on global health diseases. NITD is renowned for applying cutting-edge technologies to the discovery of high-quality clinical candidates for the treatment of global health diseases<br><br>The NITD group is looking for a highly motivated and talented biologist to support programs focusing on emerging viruses and pandemic preparedness. The successful candidate will work in a team lead by a Ph.D. level scientist and will be accountable for the design, execution and interpretation of biochemical and cellular assays to support the discovery and characterization of novel antiviral drugs. <br>Specifically, the candidate will: <br>• Develop and run new biochemical and cellular assays to support drug discovery efforts <br>• Troubleshoot assays with minimal input from supervisor<br>• Conduct mechanism of action studies<br>• Liaise with various functions such as Protein Sciences and Medicinal Chemistry <br>• Work with external collaborators and contract research organizations<br>• Present findings at internal scientific meetings<br><br><br>[#video#https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mo1vwtVPVA0&t=30s{#400,300#}#/video#]
